I wasn’t all that stoked on this month’s 2-hour set on The Vortex. In my mind it wasn’t terrible, but there were a lot of places where the mixes didn’t go as I wanted and I was having a hard time getting “into” it. I need new music, really. It’s hard to play well when you’re tired of all your tunes. I also forget that while I may be tired of hearing all my music, most other people are hearing it for the first time. And you are your own worst critic; this month’s set got the most reaction from people and I had a TON of response on social media saying how killer the set was. I wasn’t going to post it, but Dana Vallery was so adorable in his gushing and excitement for my set at his upcoming Birthday Breakbeat Party (next weekend at Nightjar), that I decided an early birthday present was in order.
